General Discussion
General
When communicating with brokers on behalf of MTS please ensure that you are clear, concise and that you receive all necessary information needed to move forward with vetting, booking, or canceling a load. If you need assistance from MTS, please contact us with the exact information/action needed. We do not have the resources currently to call the broker to request additional information on your behalf, we will have to return the request to you for an update. This will cause a delay with your needs.
New Carrier Set-Up
When carrying a load for a broker for the first time there is usually a carrier packet required.
• When signing up for new brokers you must use MTS info provided
• If you are speaking to a person, you can request the Carrier Packet be sent to your email initially. If required to set up an account etc., please still use MTS info.
• Once you have completed initial sign up and need a COI, please use the following link to request. COI Request Form
• COI requests normally take up to two hours to complete, please plan accordingly. It is not ideal to request COI when you have an immediate need for a load.
• Utilize load boards to research companies that have the type of loads desired and go ahead and submit everything needed to be onboarded with them. This will minimize time restrictions and missed loads when available.
Booking a Load
MTS uses Super Dispatch to store, monitor, and invoice loads. All loads carried that were booked using MTS DOT/MC number must be uploaded into Super Dispatch. This can be done automatically by importing the dispatch sheet. There are loads that will have to be entered manually. This should be done prior to pick-up for every load.
• When booking loads with a broker ensure you have researched their pay/business history for the best results. All load boards should include ratings/credit profiles.
• When calling brokers please confirm dimensions, weight, pick-up, and delivery locations.
• Once the load is booked and paperwork is confirmed, please call the pick-up location to verify that the commodity is ready and available for transport.
• Most brokers send loads on different load boards than Super Dispatch, in these cases these loads will have to be updated on both Super Dispatch as well as the load board used to book.
• Super Dispatch can send pick-up BOLs and drop-off BOLs to any email desired. This will allow you as the dispatcher to update the load in the platform you booked it from in real-time.
• Many loads can be booked via text, easy text format will be included below:
Major Transport Services LLC
DOT: 3904363
Load: Insert load number or identifier
Pick-Up: Insert date
Drop Off: Insert date
Asking: Can be a negotiated amount if listed price is not desired
• Before accepting the load, please confirm payment terms and payment process required to initiate the payment process. This information should be placed in Super along with load information. Please note some Super Dispatch functionality may not be available in the app.
Load Completion
Once the load has been delivered it should be marked delivered on all required load boards. Follow the steps necessary to initiate payment from the broker.
• All loads will be reviewed at the end of the day in Super Dispatch, all loads transported must match ELD logs. NO EXCEPTIONS
• Once the load has been delivered the BOL should be sent to the shipper, it can be downloaded and sent as a text if the shipper's e-mail address is not loaded.
